Safe MENDELU: Situational Videos
6. 2. 2025
As part of our efforts to prevent inappropriate behavior within the university environment, we have released a series of four educational videos titled "You Don’t Have To – You Can." ("Nemusíš - můžeš"). Each video presents a short, model story that highlights real-life situations that students, academics, and other university staff members may encounter. These stories draw attention to critical moments, potential consequences of actions, and the fears that can paralyze both victims and bystanders.
The videos are in Czech. Please switch to English subtitles.
- Something for Something (Něco za něco) - A story involving a student and a teacher that highlights the misuse of power and the fear of repercussions for refusal.
- No Means No (Ne znamená ne) - A video focused on setting personal boundaries in interactions between a student and a teacher.
- It Doesn´t Concern Me (Mě se to netýká) - A discussion among colleagues illustrating the role of an active bystander and how to contribute to resolving a situation.
- It Was Just a Photo (Byla to jen fotka) - A story about a student and their peer warning against the dangers of sharing sensitive information and the potential consequences.
Watch the videos to learn what steps you can take. The videos are also available on the Safe MENDELU website under the What to Watch Out For section.
