Struggling with the KB course in MOODLE? This article will guide you step-by-step through logging in (Shibboleth), accessing the course, getting familiar with study materials, and completing the final test. You’ll also find answers to frequently asked questions and quick solutions to common issues (access, locked test, page loading).

Basic Cybersecurity Course

In accordance with the Cybersecurity Act (ZoKB) and considering that the university is the operator of a reported significant information system (UIS), it is essential to regularly train all users. This training takes place annually and is mandatory for all employees, students, and external collaborators.

The training is conducted in the form of a short online course in the MOODLE system and concludes with a test. You will typically have 3 weeks to complete the course.

Employees will be notified about the training via email, which will include a link to the course. Students will receive key information in the UIS, known as a "zásadka."

KB courses can be found on the page https://moodle.mendelu.cz, where after logging in via Shibboleth, you can either:

  • through the All Courses tab at the top, access a filter for individual departments. From there, navigate through university-wide departments/OIT/cybersecurity to find all current KB courses.
  • through the My Courses tab, access all assigned/enrolled courses.

Enrollment in the KB course requires self-registration, so when searching for the course using the filter, use the All Courses tab. Note: In the course, you participate in the role of a student, so you enroll as a student.

How to Access the Course from the Link

When using the link (whether from an email or zásadka), the MOODLE login page will open. Logging in via Shibboleth is required. In the next step, enter the same login credentials as for the UIS. Afterward, the course will appear with a request for self-registration for course students. Yes, you will participate in the role of a student.

After self-registration, the course will open with a welcome text. You will also receive an email welcoming you to the course. Next, you will go through the Study Materials, and then the test will be unlocked. Good luck completing the course!

How to Navigate Between Chapters

On the right side of the course, there is a gray "half-circle" with a green arrow. By clicking this arrow after reading the content, you will move to the next chapter.

How to Switch the Course to English

In the top right corner, click on the user profile and select the English language.

Important Information:

  • The course is divided into Basic KB Training and a test.

  • The test is locked and will be unlocked once you complete the training.

  • The training is located in the Study Materials.

  • In the test, it is possible to select multiple answers.
